History

  • 1972: Founded by Martin Boran and inaugurated as 'Modern Packaging Ltd'. Initially the company imported Polythene Bags and Packaging Films from Northern Ireland and the United Kingdom.
  • 1974 – Manufacturing commenced with the conversion of film to Polythene bags of various sizes.
  • 1976 - Acquisition of the first Flexographic Printing Press.
  • 1979 - Expansion into a new site at Johnstown and change of name to Boran Plastic Packaging Ltd.
  • 1980 - Extrusion lines added to manufacturing capabilities.
  • 1995 - A new manufacturing facility is established in Osberstown, Naas, Co. Kildare. The primary focus of the plant is manufacturing speciality films, like Modified Atmosphere Packaging - to increase shelf life of food products.
